Howell Hitless, Stopped by Raiders Wednesday, May 4th, 2039 The streak has been snapped. Wallace Howell failed to get a hit in today's game against the Randall HS Raiders, bringing his 23-game hitting spree to an end. The 18-year-old Fresno HS second baseman was 0-for-4, but the Red Wings got the win and defeated the Raiders 4-2. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Howell said. "I got to 23 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This year Howell has 11 home runs and a .385 batting average. |
