Jackson Bashes 5 Base Hits
Monday, April 5th, 2038
After his 5-hit effort at Fort Worth HS Grounds was tarnished by John Jay HS's 11-10 loss to the Fort Worth HS Turkeys, shortstop Jake Jackson told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 17-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Turkeys.

"His swing is getting there," said Patriots skipper Chet Smith after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jake did that to perfection today and we wasted it."

Jake Jackson singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Rafael Barker in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Cy McClellan in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and walked in the 10th.

For the year Jackson has hit .385 with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
