Hatfield Jacks 3 into the Stands Sunday, May 1st , 2050 Fans are still buzzing after H.H. Dow HS whipped the Broken Arrow HS Threshers by the score of 11-3 today at Ballpark of Novato HS. Eugene Hatfield smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the left fielder bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 7 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Hatfield said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Hatfield said. "Three is just... wow." Eugene Hatfield struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Tom Dickerson in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Tom Dickerson in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off David Burton in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. In his season totals Hatfield has 3 home runs and a .192 batting average. |
