Keys Goes 5-for-6 Against Monterey Saturday, June 6th , 2043 A jubilant Mac Keys joined the postgame press conference at Swamp Foxes Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Monterey Miracle pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Peoria Cats left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led the Cats to a 31-2 win. "He made it look easy," said Vicente OrtÃz, manager of the Miracle. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Mac Keys hit a three-run home run off Ed Weaver in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 6th, doubled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
