Bass Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, May 30th , 2054 The number just keeps getting higher. El Paso center fielder Jim Bass has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 6 at-bats as the El Paso won the game, 15-6, over the Columbia Mavericks at Santa Clarita Grounds. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Columbia manager Artie Jordan said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Jim Bass grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. At the moment, Bass is hitting .370 with 15 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 55 games and scored 68 times. |
