Salazar Sets New Single-Season Strikeout Record Tuesday, January 9th , 2046 Scottsdale's Augusto Salazar keeps racking up the strikeouts -- so many, in fact, that he just established a new record for strikeouts in a single season. Strikeout number 66 broke the old record established by Don Walker. Salazar received a fine ovation from the crowd at Saguaros Ballpark when the public address announcer noted the achievement. This season Salazar has fanned 66 in 43.1 innings and collected a 4-0 record with a 2.70 ERA. |
