Whalers Keil Gone for Year
Monday, June 5th , 2051
The doctors have spoken and John Keil of the New England Whalers didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Keil sustained his season-ending injury during the Sunderland Black Cats game yesterday at Little Phoenix Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the New England medical staff reported Keil had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months.
This season he has made 7 relief appearances with no saves. In 19 innings Keil has chalked up 13 strikeouts while posting a 0-2 record and a 9.47 ERA
