Year Ends for Jerry Hawkins in Mile High Friday, July 14th , 2051 Jerry Hawkins of the Broncos just might have to call it quits for the season. The 32-year-old Mile High reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Houston Hammertime recently at Mile High Field. Hawkins suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Broncos medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 8-9 months. For the season Hawkins has made 12 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 0-2 won-lost mark and a 6.86 ERA. In pitching 19.2 innings, he has totaled 20 strikeouts and 13 walks. |
