Rippers Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The London Rippers, despite a fine performance by Cozumel pitcher Pat Slaughter, grabbed a 3-2 win at Old Comiskey Park. Slaughter allowed no runs over 6 innings. London reliever Ernest Adams picked up the win to move to 2-4. Luis Díaz suffered the loss. London is now 32-43, while Cozumel is 38-37.
Michael Howard was the walk-off hero for London. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rippers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
London manager Yasuhiko Onodera called it "a darn good win."
