The Cozumel Reef Divers picked up a win at The Island Ballpark, knocking off the Dallas Steers, 8-2. On the mound for Cozumel was right-hander Ryan Koufax. He played a key role in the triumph. The win gives Cozumel a season record of 40-39.

Ernest Floyd had a big 2-run home run for the Reef Divers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cozumel leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from fireballing right-hander Chet McPhee and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reef Divers ahead, 3-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Mike Moore.
