Browns Earn 7-3 Home Win
|
St. Louis Browns starter Roberto Reyes pitched a strong game against the Columbus Coalition at Gateway Stadium, leading the Browns to victory, 7-3. The winner was Reyes. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Jesús Delgado. The Fire Division-leading Browns are 57-34.
St. Louis first baseman Simon Ash contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a forkball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 97th hit of the season and put the Browns ahead, 3-0.
Reyes told a St. Louis Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
