|
Wave third baseman Matt Field put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Minnesota North Stars. Field was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Maui in the contest. The winner was Greg Jones in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Enrique Macías took the loss. James Horton closed it out for his 23rd save.
Field had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 curveball from Enrique Macías, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Wave a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Field.
In postgame comments to the Maui Herald, Field said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The victory gives Maui a record of 53-39.
