North Stars Earn 8-4 Home Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Minnesota North Stars and Sausalito Meatballs.
Good production from left fielder Jesús Acosta helped the Minnesota North Stars topple the Sausalito Meatballs, 8-4. Acosta went 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the North Stars. The win was credited to 21-year old left-handed pitcher Steven Sanford in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Arnold Garrett took the loss.
In the bottom of the eighth, the North Stars grabbed the lead when Acosta hit his 8th double of the season. The 2-run double off Arnold Garrett made it 5-4, Minnesota.
"Nice win for us," said Acosta. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The triumph puts Minnesota at 54-40 for the season.
