Slumping Coalition Lose Again
The Lubbock Green Sox and Columbus Coalition completed their game despite the rain.

In the 11-4 Lubbock win over Columbus, the impact of Martin McCoy was substantial. McCoy, who is tied for 10th in the BSA in doubles with 26, was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Jordan Bagnall. His record now stands at 4-6. The left-hander went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits for the Green Sox.

Lubbock used the timely hitting of Powell Lee to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Green Sox ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Manolo Román said.

Columbus is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
