Seattle beat Maui in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Seattle Admirals defeated the Maui Wave, 10-2, at The Ship Yard. Leading the charge for Seattle was second baseman Eduardo Ángel. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Vic Niekro. He tossed 104 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.
A key moment came with no one out in the bottom of the second. That's when Ángel hit a sinker from David Crawford for a run-scoring single, putting Seattle up, 1-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Ángel told the Seattle Daily.
The victory gives the Admirals a record of 58-46.
