The London Rippers called upon starter Richard Fitzgerald, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Sausalito Meatballs, 3-2. London has a record of 47-58, placing them last in the Fire Division.
London used a well-timed hit by Alain Genty to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rippers ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
In postgame comments to the London Citizen, Genty said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
