Sausalito Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Sausalito Meatballs beat the Greenville 84's, 7-6, at Albert Park. Samuel Evans, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Sausalito pitcher Johnny Quick earned the win, hiking his record to 6-5. Herman Banks suffered the loss. The defeat makes Greenville 64-52.
With Sausalito trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth, Evans delivered the clutch hit against Greenville pitcher Mason Hanmer. Evans hit a fastball to right for a 2-run double -- and a walk-off win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Evans said.
