Charm City Wins, Hardy has 3 hits
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Mike Hardy, the Charm City Baysox stopped the Lubbock Green Sox, 9-1. The Baysox saw their win-loss record go to 58-60. At the same time, the Green Sox fell to 68-49.
Stevie Szabo had a big 2-run home run for the Baysox in the bottom of the third inning. With Charm City leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from fireballing 6' 8" right-hander Bill Bryant and swatted a home run to right. It was his 18th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baysox ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Szabo said.
