Despite a great performance by Irvine third baseman Arthur Barber, the Minnesota North Stars defeated the Gang Green by the score of 10-6 at The Kallipolis. Barber hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Brendon Cummings, who is on pace for 201 strikeouts this season, was the winner. He's now 10-8. The loser was Salvador Ramos. Steven Sanford recorded the save, his 6th.

The North Stars got a big hit from catcher James Thompson. In the bottom of the sixth, Thompson smacked a 3-run home run off Irvine pitcher Salvador Ramos. It was his 8th home run of the season. Suddenly, the North Stars were ahead, 5-3.

In postgame comments to the Minnesota Times, Thompson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Minnesota now has a record of 66-54 with the win.
