Slumping Seals Lose 7th Straight
|
St. Charles starter António Ortíz pitched well against the San Francisco Seals at Seals Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Alfred Molina, credited with the save, is now 21 for 22 in save opportunities. The losses continue to mount for San Francisco, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
St. Charles used the timely hitting of Gabriel Torres to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sheens on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"António was hitting his spots and everything had life," said St. Charles manager Kevin Bush.
