The Sausalito Meatballs got a sterling performance from pitcher Augusto Salazar, but the Mexico City Luchadores still prevailed, 5-4. Salazar threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Ernest Carson earned the save, his 12th. The third-place Luchadores bumped their record to 65-65.

Wilson Flores had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for Mexico City. With the bases loaded and the Luchadores leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Luchadores manager Dick Davis.
