In a tight contest at Rainbow Stadium, the Irvine Gang Green edged the Maui Wave by the score of 5-4. Irvine second baseman Alex Brown, who blasted 3 home runs, was a key contributor. Irvine reliever Nick Hunt was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Kevin Clark. Irvine goes to 88-54. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.

Irvine used the timely hitting of Ken Clement to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Gang Green on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Brown said.
