Meatballs Win at Home, 5-2
|
The Sausalito Meatballs extended their winning streak.
Sausalito pitcher Bernardo López did his part in helping his team defeat the Jersey Shore D-Bags, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. López got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Johnny Quick closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
The Meatballs got a big at-bat from left fielder Mauro Gonzáles. For the game, Gonzáles was 3-4 with 3 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Sausalito a 2-0 lead.
"I'm happy we won," said López. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
For the D-Bags, the loss makes them 8-14.
