Led by Yordon Alcantara, the Maui Wave defeated the Irvine Gang Green, 8-5. Alcantara went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Wave. Alcantara contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Maui in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-4, Alcantara took a cutter from Ángel Ledesma and stroked the home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Wave to leap in front, 6-5.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Alcantara told the Maui Daily. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
