Espinoza Collects Hit Number 2000 Friday, August 27th , 2055 ValentÃn Espinoza's bat made good contact with the ball as he has many times in his career, but this time it added his name to an elite list of players with 2000 hits. "This is a tremendous honor. You grow up dreaming of becoming a Baseball Stars Association player, but never did I ever think I would get to this point," an emotional Espinoza said after the game. The San Francisco left fielder went to the plate 5 times and racked up 1 hit to gain the honor. But the Seals couldn't pull off a win -- they fell to the Lubbock Green Sox, 7-4. "It certainly would have been nice to have won, but tomorrow is another day. I'm going to enjoy this moment with my friends and family," Espinoza said.
