Kline Pounds 3 HR Against Meatheads Tuesday, June 15th , 2055 It was a good day for the Del Mar Racers and an exceptional one for Sandy Kline. The 21-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Racers beat the Manhatten Meatheads, 20-0, at Manhattan Metro Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Kline said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 5 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Sandy Kline hit a two-run home run off Ken Jackson in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Cisco Bernal in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jerry Gordon in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season, Kline is batting .314 with 29 home runs. |
