Corrigan Launches 3 HR for Rainiers
Saturday, June 26th , 2055
Tacoma Rainiers left fielder Mike Corrigan sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Cincinnati Pride, Corrigan told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Corrigan pushed the Rainiers past the Pride, 17-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 10 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Corrigan told reporters after the game.
Mike Corrigan hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jorge MartÃnez in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Cory Walker in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Cory Walker in the 5th and struck out in the 5th.
Thus far this season, Corrigan is hitting .619 with 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 13 hits in 21 at-bats and has played in 5 games.
