Smashing Success: Washington Wallops 3 HR
Saturday, July 24th , 2055
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Barry Washington discovered that today at Dean Dome, as he smashed three home runs during the 9-6 Savannah Hogs win over the Spartanburg Spartans.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Savannah left fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Washington, the 28th overall pick in the 2053 draft, finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 6 RBIs.
Barry Washington hit a two-run home run off Jorge Miranda in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Miranda in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Pedro Chávez in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
For the season, Washington is hitting .284, batted in 19 runs with 10 home runs and 16 runs scored.
