Townies Hitless Against Robinson
Wednesday, April 15th , 2054
The Gilbert Fire Fighters were just hoping for a solid outing from Byron Robinson. Instead, they got something special.
The 18-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Charleston Townies, helping the Fire Fighters take the 8-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Fire Fighters. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
Robinson's repertoire has a sinker, slider, and fastball, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Charleston hitters off balance all game long. The Gilbert hurler fanned 12 and walked 5 in his history-making performance.
"His sinker looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Charleston manager Jack Chappell joked after the game.
