The Irvine Gang Green beat the Cozumel Reef Divers, 5-4, in part because of first baseman Damon Strickland. He went 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Picking up the save was Rich Cervantes. He's now 13 for 15 in save chances. The Gang Green' win now puts them at 44-32.

Strickland contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Irvine in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Strickland took a fastball from Ramón López and stroked the double to right. His 8th double of the season allowed the Gang Green to leap in front, 5-3.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Strickland. "Obviously."
