Green Sox Top Meatballs, 4-1, Behind McWattie
|
The Lubbock Green Sox got great pitching from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Joba McWattie, allowing them to bump off the Sausalito Meatballs, 4-1. Esteban Lugo was credited with the save, his 4th in 6 tries. The win for the Green Sox lifted their record to 41-35.
McWattie, the winner, is now 9-5, after putting the clamps on the Sausalito offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while collecting 5 Ks.
"Joba is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Lubbock manager Dan Marshall.
