Richardson at His Best, Whips Sooners
Maryland Terrapins starter Pat Richardson really did a number on the Oklahoma Sooners, shutting them out, 6-0, on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 11 strikeouts.

"We didn't have good at-bats," said Oklahoma manager Ron Henningar. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Richardson."
