Fire Win, 5-3, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
The Cleveland Fire picked up a win at Oceanic Ballpark, knocking off the San Francisco Seals, 5-3. On the mound for Cleveland was left-hander Jake Harris. He played a key role in the triumph. Reliever Zoilo Papadimitriou picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Al Jackson took the loss. The Fire, at 48-33, have now won 4 straight.
Had Miguel Pérez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Pérez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Fire.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Harris.
