Steers Dealt 5-1 Loss by Fort Worth
|
Fort Worth second baseman Ralph Casey helped his team beat the Dallas Steers, 5-1. Casey, who finished 4th in the BSA in hits with 183 in 2044, went 2 for 4 for the Cougars. Fort Worth pitcher Melvin Scott got the win. He's now 6-4. Dan Valéncia was tagged with the loss. The Cougars now have a record of 40-41.
Fort Worth took a 3-0 lead on Casey's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Dan Valéncia in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Fort Worth to the win.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cougars manager Bill Hansen, "I like our chances."
