Mexico City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ernest Carson, falling to the Minnesota North Stars, 5-3. Carson threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Joe James got the save, his 12th in 16 chances. With the win, Minnesota upped its record to 44-41.

The Luchadores wasted a fine effort from Carson, who struck out 12 and held the North Stars without an earned run over 7 innings.
