Red-Hot MacAlduie Cools Off Georgia Tech
|
It wasn't easy but the Penn State Nittany Lions made it look that way.
Starter Brendon MacAlduie shut out the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Penn State Nittany Lions cruised to victory, 7-0. MacAlduie allowed only 5 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
On his stats sheet this season MacAlduie shows a 7-2 record, 11 starts, 87.2 innings, 90 strikeouts and a 3.80 ERA.
