Reef Divers Use Late Score to Top Crescents, 3-2
|
The New Orleans Crescents got a superb performance from pitcher Ashton Wheeler, but the Cozumel Reef Divers still won the game, 3-2. Wheeler threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The 5th-place Reef Divers have won 4 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cozumel center fielder Ricardo Reyes, facing Bob Corrigan, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Reef Divers the 3-2 win.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Reyes told the Cozumel Times.
