Mexico City Luchadores starter Darryl Day turned in a top-notch performance against the Dallas Steers at Seabreeze Stadium. The result was a win for the Luchadores, 8-2. Day got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Keith Bailey recorded the save, making him 1 for 5.
Mexico City won the game in part because of Gabriel Andersen. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Luchadores ahead, 2-0. For the game, Andersen had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Mike Moore.
The triumph puts Mexico City at 50-41 for the season.
