The New York Knights picked up a win at Agent 47 Field, knocking off the Columbus Coalition, 2-1. On the mound for New York was right-hander Joey Layman, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, New York lifts its record to 3-7.
Samuel LeBlanc, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. LeBlanc contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 2-0.
In postgame comments to the New York Daily, Layman said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
