Sweet Sixteen Goes the Distance, Mississippi Prevails
|
The Mississippi Rebels and South Florida Bulls hooked up in a classic Sweet Sixteen that went right down to the wire.
In the end, it's Mississippi heading off to the Elite 8, after a 3-2 win at Swayze Field tonight earned the 2-1 series win.
Outside Swayze Field, whether they were supporters of Mississippi or South Florida, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget.
Sloan Brewer played the hero for the Rebels in the series, as his MVP performance included a .538 batting average, with a .538 on-base percentage. He also had 0 home runs, 1 RBI and scored 4 runs.
