Round 1 Goes the Distance, Olympia Prevails
With a narrow 4-3 series win, the Olympia Marshalls have eliminated the Chapel Hill Sharks and are Round 1 winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Round 2, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said first baseman Kevin Roenick, who was named series MVP.

Olympia won the final game by a score of 11-3, wrapping it up at The Corral.

Roenick's big series saw him hit .400 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 10 runs.

The Olympia Marshalls will play against the Waco Blue Cats in the next round. Waco won their series against the Knoxville Johnnys 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
