Sackett Blasts Admirals, 84's Take Game 3, 8-4
|
The Greenville 84's moved to within one game of the Elite Eight, downing the visiting Seattle Admirals at Michigan & Trumbull by a score of 8-4. 84's left fielder Pat Sackett did some major damage. He was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The win gives the 84's a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Wildcard Round.
Juan Gómez, who finished 5th in the BSA in batting average with .327 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Greenville in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Gómez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Michigan & Trumbull in Greenville.
