84's Advance to Elite Eight
The fans in Greenville are celebrating the 84's victory over the Kansas City Kings in the Wildcard Round.

They defeated the Kansas City Kings 6-5 in the finale played at Michigan & Trumbull to capture the series 3-1.

Nicky Mortimore was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The 84's shortstop batted .538, drove in 2 runs and scored 3 runs in the series.

"The Kings are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Mortimore said. "Everything at the plate seemed right."

The Greenville 84's will play against the Seattle Admirals in the next round. Seattle had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Elite Eight schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes.
