Arellano, Steers Wallop North Stars in Game 2 of WR
|
With designated hitter Duane Arellano leading the charge, the Dallas Steers got a road win over the Minnesota North Stars, 12-2, in Game 2 of the Wildcard Round. Arellano was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 at The Kallipolis to help Dallas force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Dallas relied on the bat of Jessie Yoxall to get the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Steers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Yoxall had 2 doubles and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
Said Minnesota manager Florêncio Grandela after the blowout loss: "They did pretty much every facet of the game better than we did and that's why we lost."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 8th , 2055 at Seabreeze Stadium in Dallas.
