Browns Move on to Elite Eight
The Wildcard Round may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The St. Louis Browns, however, are not complaining.

The Browns were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Vista Panthers to advance to the Elite Eight.

St. Louis won the final game by a 5-4 count at Prohibition Brewing Co Stadium and the series 3-1.

Browns right fielder Claude Rowland was named series MVP, as he hit .333 with a .375 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"It's not going to be the last time Vista makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Rowland said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."

The St. Louis Browns will play against the Nashville G-Strings in the next round. Nashville had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Elite Eight schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes.
