The Greenville 84's went the distance and then some at The Beach Cooler at South Beach today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Cervezas de Miami.

It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the Elite Eight, but Greenville eventually took the 2-1 win despite the performance of Cervezas de Miami starting pitcher Augusto Salazar, who threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.

Greenville used the timely hitting of Jasiel Briceno to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the 84's on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like our moxie," said 84's manager Jim Dunbar.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Michigan & Trumbull in Greenville.
