The Greenville 84's moved to within one game of the Final Four today, downing the visiting London Hotspur at Michigan & Trumbull by a score of 6-1. 84's right-hander Alain Valette had a strong outing in which he threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the 84's a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Elite Eight.

In the bottom of the second, Greenville designated hitter Daniel Smith had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two out, Smith stroked a 2-run home run to center. It made the score 2-0, Greenville. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Smith called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at White Hart Lane in London.
