Gang Green Clip North Stars, 4-3, in WS Contest
|
Behind a bravura effort from starter Iván Martínez, the Irvine Gang Green topped the Minnesota North Stars by the score of 4-3 and got their first win in the 2054 World Series. Martínez threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs for the Gang Green. The win moves Irvine into a 1-1 tie with Minnesota.
Ron Harris broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Gang Green in front, 3-2. For the game, Harris drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Irvine manager David Adams.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 30th , 2054 at The Kallipolis in St. Paul.
