Home Field Advantage: Gandarei, Seattle Open World Series with Win
The Seattle Admirals started the World Series in style today, downing the visiting Greenville 84's at The Ship Yard by a score of 8-5 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Admirals catcher Estanislau Gandarei went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Francisco Delgado dealt the 84's a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Seattle trailing 1-0, Delgado, who finished 2nd in the BSA in wins above replacement with 8.2 in 2050, hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run home run.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Admirals manager José Guzmán, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ship Yard in Seattle.
