Sun Devils Prevail, as Sweet Sixteen Goes to the Wire
Arizona State Sun Devils won a nail-biting series against the Kansas Jayhawks 2-1, wrapping up the Sweet Sixteen finale 3-2 at Hoglund Ballpark.

Sun Devils first baseman Mark Starks was named the series MVP.

He batted .455, drove in 3 runs and scored 4 to lead Arizona State into the next round of play.

"Mark was real solid for us, real solid," said Sun Devils manager Paul Wells. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."

The Elite 8 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Sweet Sixteen finishes..
